The Fact he Dislikes Fame and all that goes with it...

Makes me like him even more. He's a true artist - didn't know he's an author as well. Can't wait to read his stuff.

And oh yeah - so hot! If only I could meet an English man that has aged as well as he has..

Please he's made about 100 million pounds (which goes with fame). I'd say it's been worth it.

Disliking fame has nothing to do with being a true 'artist'. You're giving him credit for just existing. And if he doesn't like fame, then make sure you don't become too successful, so you'll have one less thing to bitch about.

Pretty basic reading comprehension would reveal that OP didn't equate Hugh's not liking fame with being a true artist. The only connection they made was that Hugh's not liking fame made the OP like Hugh more.

The fact that Hugh is a true artist was a completely independent comment.

Pretty basic comprehension would also indicate that you and the others are worshiping some spoiled movie star, instead of holding him responsible for his actions like any other human being.

Yes, I have my entire house filled with lit candles and incense, all at the alter of Hugh. You're so wise, you busted me.

So, instead you and the sheep become irrational if anybody dare say anything negative about him.

You didn't say anything negative about him. You said something non-sensical about the OP.

You are wrong; the poster was giving him credit for disliking fame.

You could only come to that conclusion if you literally did not understand how the arrangement of words in English actually worked.

Yeah. He hates fame. That explains all the talk show appearances and the magazine covers with the PR work he did on all those interviews. And yes, when they're doing interviews they see it as working on their image.

C'mon. Pull the other one while you're at it.

I thought the talk show appearances and interviews were to promote a project, either House, a movie, or the cds/concerts. And that's only for the things where he's the headliner.

He's currently doing a supporting role in VEEP and i haven't seen him do anything for that. The last interviews/appearances he did was for Tomorrowland.

My point was that you can't swing a cat in the entertainment business without some fellow announcing to the media and broadcasting it as far as possible that he doesn't like fame.

I don't usually agree with the fellow with that eye avatar, but if you're the kind of person who doesn't want to be recognized wherever you go and can't stand doing interviews about your personal life/views, it'd be best not to get into the entertainment business. And if you do, always be one of the character actors. Avoiding trying out for the starring roles is one of the best ways to avoid fame.

I see it so much on IMDb, and fans believe it so much, I'm always astonished. It reminds me of this old Randy Newman song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qlmGJQq3AlM
