What happened to all our comments?

Tommy Kirk died in September of 2021. At the time a lot of people (mainly Boomers and Gen X, I imagine, who would have been of the age to see Tommy's Disney movies) had kind words to say about him on Moviechat. There was much talk about his homosexuality which was well-known, and Tommy never denied it which cost him his contract with Disney. Today I happened to find one of Tommy's last Disney movies, The Misadventures of Merlin Jones. I came here to see what people had to say but all the threads under Tommy's name have been removed except one. Why? Everybody was very considerate toward him. There were no homophobic comments made and some guys talked about having crushes on him. What happened to all those sweet comments about Tommy? Are Moviechat's moderators populated with homophobes?

reply

Maybe Disney don't want THAT subject brought up at all about him in any way, shape or form, whether positively OR negatively?

reply

Though Disney's homophobic policy from circa 60 years ago might not be something the company would prefer people know about nowadays, I doubt they would lift a finger to demand a small online forum with few users like Moviechat get rid of message boards that contain reference to it.

reply

Bumped because this is an important topic

I can find no reports in the inbox or archived inboxes for that actor's section so it is not likely we deleted anything from it.
No, we are not homophobic.

reply

Somebody must have gotten rid of them for whatever reason. There were quite a few RIP comments when he died last year.

reply

That's possible, but I can't find anything reported so don't know why they would have been deleted.
Are you sure they were under his section and not something he starred in?
