ONE OF THE NICEST PEOPLE I WORKED WITH ...
In 1980 ... the very first feature I worked on was an AMERICAN ZOETROPE / FRANCIS FORD COPPOLA production of a WIM WENDERS film entitled, 'HAMMETT' ...
... of which I was a Casting Coordinator for Extras for the scenes shot in San Francisco.
One night, we were shooting in downtown S.F., and I was in the Make-Up / Hair Trailer talking to the Legendary MARY KEATS working out the the best times to get a classroom of Chinese 8-10 year old girls to get a traditional 'Bowl Haircut' for some upcoming scenes a few weeks away.
The door opened and there was DAVID PATRICK KELLY -- in costume -- big Fedora and dark suit ... and having seen him ... and had been so impressed by his character in the (then) recent 'WARRIORS' ... I half-expected that baddie he played to do his sing-song 'Warrrrrr-iors, come out and playyyy-yeee-aaayyyy' ---
-- but no.
Instead, in a soft voice, he said to Ms. Keats & myself, 'Pardon me, Ma'am ... Sir ... I'm sorry to interrupt ... but, can you tell me where I can find the 2nd A.D., Danny Attias ..?'
I seem to recall saying, 'I saw him over by the ...' (whatever it was) and he said his thanks and left the trailer.
To this day -- 35-plus years later, his polite manner still rings wondrously in my memory ... and through the years, I've often wished many of my co-workers in films & commercials to be even 10% as polite as Mr. David Patrick Kelly was and likely still is.

PS: FYI .... I worked on the 'first version' of the film when the great BRIAN KEITH was the co-star ... later replaced and re-shot by PETER BOYLE.
