shareKatharine's brother Josh specifically tried to dissuade certain people from going ahead with this.
Unfortunately, being an American, the person responsible doesn't seem to know that "The thought's enough, you really don't have to do anything" means: No thank you!
Hi
Firstly, I would like to reiterate, here - the person responsible for that message here and direct involvement in the Charity, is me and I am not American. But I don't appreciate the unfair comment towards Americans in any case.
I'm not going to argue semantics with you, just to point out that a polite (re-worded) statement removed from a bulk of message is a very weak and misleading interpretation of Katie/Joshs response.
Just to reiterate, confirmation yet again today from Josh, Katie and Josh are both happy with the charity picked, appreciate/flattered by the idea and leave it up to the individual choice on whether to contribute.
Enough said. Thank you.
All semantics on your part, I'm afraid. The idea WAS first floated by a pair of Americans, then taken up by you.
I'm afraid all you did was present Josh with a fait a complis; and it would have looked churlish to kick up about it at that point.
What he said and what he meant is as plain as the nose on your face - I did NOT reword anything - that you chose to interpret it your way is another matter.
Anyhow, it's over and done with now.
End of.
BTW, if you are not American, may I politely suggest you learn how to spell - there is a U in 'honour' for instance.
