shareI agree with you, Iam also dutch, but 4 some reason it weird and not funny.
I mean Penelope cruz, Salma Hayek have accents, but its different and with them it doesnt bother me.
ALL accents have charm, hating on specific accents is ignorant.
There's nothing wrong with having a slight accent, it makes you YOU, shows people your roots.
What a dumb complaint, really. I get told all the time that people find the Dutch accent charming, and I REGRET not having one even though I am Dutch.
It is that ur Dutch and are not used to this. I hate her accent too, but I cant stand the dutch accent when we are trying to talk American (cause the majority of us doesnt speak english).
But than again, there are some Australian and English actors who do a terrible American accent. But we dont complain bout those cause we cant hear it. We think thats normal, while it isnt.
Americans are more used to different accents than we are, so most of the time they cant be bothered.
lol wut
shareAgreed.
shareI myself had an accent and have worked to remove it- if you are playing an american or a brit then you should be able to do so without an accent- it is part of our job and it takes severe discipline!!!! What you sound like in your personal life should have nothing to do with the roles you play!
