have there been any other major debuts like this?

My question-have been any other major debuts in a major motion picture by an actess like this? Off-hand, I can't think of any but I know there must be some. Eva Green is absolutely gorgeous, but the Bertolucci movie had no where near the power of this film. And it is unclear at all if Eva is capable of a great performance. I didn't see the Bond film but it is a disappointing send off in my opinion. Jennifer Connolly is a great actress and also devine, but she did not have a break through film that made use of her considerable erotic charms, as far as I know.
My point is, Carice is set to become an international star if she wants to do that. And watching this tour de force by an unknown was a great cinema thrill. She has a combination of great acting skills and an erotic aura that sizzles!

People in Holland saw she was a remarkable actress long before Zwartboek. She won awards for her movies Suzy Q (1999) and Minoes (2001). Also for her work in the theater. This was not her debut. Her best acting she did in the children's movie Knetter (2005).

I meant an international debut. No one outside Hollad know anything about her. This film should make her a huge international star. She is incredible. I still want to know if anyone can name anybody's performance that comes anything close to this for a INTERNATIONAL debut. There must have been a few....
Come on IMDB------where are my film fanatics?

But this wasn't her international debut.....
It was just another Dutch movie. Ok, this one was released outside Holland, but so was Minoes. Perhaps not as huge as Black Book, but still...

Stress is on the second syllable of her name, so Kah-RIZ (I'd say short vowel in stead of a prolonged 'ee' in the end)
