Let me put it this way: I laughed at him in "Pirates". I mean, c'mon, the man's, like, 5'4". Plus, powdered wigs don't do justice for most guys (Why hide gorgeous Jack Davenport underneath one, anyway?) But when I looked up Tom's main imdb pic out of curiosity, I was shocked by it. Is it just me, or is there something pretty damn sexy about him???

I now respect the fact that he can be sexy and short at the same time. Any guy can be imposing at 6'4", but 5'4"? That's a pretty big accomplishment...

Oh, and he's a fantastic actor, too. That also plays a part! :-) Anyone agree?

Yes! He's very sexy!

But I actually find him sexier as Lord Beckett.

Beckett and Norrington are both sexy and imposing. I found them both to be quite magnetic, although in different ways. And yes, Tom's IMDB headshot is super hot!

If you want to see Tom in a romantic role, check out Wives and Daughters (http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0215364/). He plays the favorite son of a country squire, and the production really plays up his good looks. He's also adorable in Gosford Park, as half of the only couple that married for love.

It's a shame if his height has kept him from being cast in certain roles, because he's a fantastic actor. On the other hand, he has played romantic roles and a great variety of others as well, so maybe it's for the best that he hasn't been pigeonholed.

I'll check it out sntbacchus, and I really feel terrible about first judging Tom by his height. I mean, he's 5'5" not 2'5"!

I had the exact same reaction! Although I didn't pay too much attention to his height, but Lord Beckett hardly made me drool. But then I also had a look at his profile out of curiosity, and I was like 'OMGWTF?! That's HIM?!' and then I saw some clips on youtube of Bedrooms and Hallways and I fell in love *swoon*

And I agree that he's definitely a very good character actor. To hide all that sexiness behind an unattractive role?
