I just realized that Lord Cutler from Pirates 2 and 3 is Mr. Collins from Pride and Prejudice!!!! Lol, just had to say that..
Everyone else hated Cutler in Pirates, but I LOVED him and thought he was a great actor even though he was the bad guy. I can't believe he was Mr. Collins from P&P, because I hated him there. I can't believe the same person played the cruel Cutler and the bumbling Collins.
He's definitely a great actor!! :)
Actually, for me, I adored him in Pirates and not Pride and Prej. Indeed, the latter film bored me to tears, and not even Tom's lovely acting could save it.

I've not seen those latter films you mention but I absolutely LOVE him in POTC!!!
shareWhat's good about Tom Hollander is that his character portrayal is very believable. I actually enjoyed "hating" Lord Beckett. Tom's really an effective actor.
shareThat's exactly how I feel. It's so much fun to really despise the character. He played it incredibly well. I never saw P&P (I'd be bored to death in the first 3 min, unfortunately), but from what I've heard, he did pretty well in that, too.
shareThe very same thing happened to me today.. I watched Pride & Prejudice twice last week and even though I'd seen Pirates 2, I didn't notice a thing, but when I watched Pirates 3 today and he was on screen, my very first thought was 'Oh my god! That's the guy from Pride & Prejudice, isn't he?'

but gosh, that movie was boring as hell!!
Anyways, good acting in POTC, though, as they say, loved to hate him.

I almost feel bad for not hating him in the POTC films... I thought he was just fabulous! Sure, he was evil and manipulating, but I can reason with it in my head! x)
