I don't know how un-straight River was. Probably just sexually fluid (which always makes me giggle).

But if anyone had ever played River, Emile was one of the only ones who might've pulled it off in terms of appearance and demeanor.

I don't know how it's insulting when Emile is an amazing actor. Maybe their bodies of work aren't similar but they are both very charismatic, charming actors who light up the screen.

Baloney. River Phoenix gave a better performance in Stand By Me when he was 15.

Phoenix was also very good in Running On Empty and My Own Private Idaho, better than Hirsch has ever been.
