RIP Spongeboob guy..
We regret to report that Stephen, 57 close to mine), died of ALS. lou Gehrig's disease..
RIP, while not exactly as fan, it inspried children, as the last writer said, small and big, too, even sometimes me..

shareThis news hit me hard, what a man, what a legacy. Marine biologist turned animator of one of Nickelodeon's greatest and longest running animated shows may have left us, but the underwater world of Bikini Bottom lives on. Spongebob Squarepants will go on to entertain and inspire millions of children the way it inspired this one.
R.I.P. Stephen Hillenburg, a great man and talent.
I[m not a child, but it inpsired me a bit [though not official a fan..i love, the ol,dschool stock cues userd by earleir Hanna-Barbera, and in the modern day era, Spumco along with Sponge studio or whatever the studio that made SS is called.
shareI adore the freeze frame detail shots akin to Ren & Stimpy and the dramatic cues like you said.
I found a video on them here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CtdsvvMjJ0I
The first three seasons can very much be enjoyed by young and old. Seasons 4-6 have the occasional thrill, but it definitely took a nose dive after Stephen departed the show.
I'm an adult, or man child to be more accurate and I still love Spongebob.
