vastly underrated actress

can i just say that Keeley Hawes is probably Britain's most underused, underrated British actress, and it's about time she finally started getting plenty of roles and people are starting to talk about her, and yes she does look like a slightly older Kiera Knightley, but she's a far better actress, I don't think she could of pulled of the role Keeley played in After Thomas, it was realistic and moving, and I hope she keeps building her profile up because she's deserves it.

I don't understand the Keira comparison (except their similar looks), as they are completely different and I'm a fan of both, however I do agree that Keeley is great. I watched After Thomas again a few weeks ago, as it was repeated, and it was very moving and I thought Keeley was great in it. I've liked her since I saw her in Tipping The Velvet and always enjoy watching her on screen.

"But where did the lighter fluid come from?!"

Her weakness at character roles was illustrated when she was in Spooks, and I knew from the moment I heard that she had been cast in A2A that it was a miscasting.

There are just too many holes in her performances so far for me to start.

I must admit to not knowing much about her before her casting in Ashes to Ashes, in which I thought she was good, but I think she really displayed just how good a comedy actress she is in Mutual Friends. While the programme itself wasn't that great, she certainly stood out in terms of performances.

What's that? You just called me a bastard didn't you!

She's in lots of stuff, and she's the face of the latest Boots ads. Don't think she's missing out on much.

Not sure what you saw in Spooks, I thought she was terrific. Not to speak for her, but I'd assumed that as she has 2 kids, maybe the whole Hollywood thing wasn't for her.

I completely agree that she is underrated & underused.

I think she is one of England's best actresses right now, not only in the way she talks and uses language, but the facial detail & emotions which she conveys perfectly and engages the audiences.

Personally, I like the odd bit of TV, but she is probably the only actress I've seen recently and confirmed by watching an old murder TV programme she did and Ashes to Ashes, that stands out against the rest.

Could you go into detail about holes in her performances- namely in A2A, because I'm not yet familiar with her work from Spooks. I think her performances in A2A are brilliant and I think that she is definitely underrated and under cast. I think she fit the role of Alex Drake and conveyed her character beautifully- when I watched it I felt an instant connection, but I would love to hear more of your opinion on the matter.

I could use a little miracle.
