I saw an interview with him and his psycho wife from an obscure TV show back in the day. It was clear that she had him whipped, the way he kept making himself sound like a bad guy who wasn't paying attention to her enough. They were in some kind of sick codependent relationship where she was completely dependent on him and he felt like he had a duty to rescue her. Looking back on that interview, you can see how someone that manipulative would kill someone.

I watched a documentary on him on YT a little while ago. Seemed like she gave him a pretty hard time about not doing enough for her career. Not sure what she expected. It's not like she had any particular talents.

reply

He probably could have done more for her if she had any actual talent besides being a bimbo.

I saw Joe Rogan talking about Phil and her from back in the NewsRadio days, and how badly she treated Phil - she was a piece of shit.

Paul Rodriguez told a story on the Howard Stern about being at a restaurant and hearing her cause a major scene there. Then Hartman cracked a joke to cover for her, but it was all super awkward.

It wouldn't surprise me if Brynn was suffering from borderline personality disorder or was at the very least, pathologically insecure. There's this story about how one of Phil's ex-wives, for whom he was still friendly with sent a congratulatory note regarding the birth of their first child. And Brynn responded by sending the most vile, nastiest note that you would ever imagine. Also Brynn once fired their housekeeper after the housekeeper laughed at something Phil said.

She quite obviously, chose to mask the pain with cocaine and alcohol when her mental illness was escalated.

Back in the day there was talk that he had had been having one or more affairs, but there was absolutely no discussion of this in the special. Were we given the whole story?
