shareshe's hungry for awards she wants her second oscar. they really couldn't find overweight actress? it was urgent to use former model for lead role instead of giving opportunity to an overweight actress to be lead
by the way i think It is padding. Her face is not fat or bloated her neck is still slim and she lacks a double chin.look at how bony / thin her wrists and forearms.
Well given how thin she normally is 35 pounds probably hardly registers on the BMI index as overweight by mere mortal standards. Not that she seems overly thin compared to many of her fellow actresses.
For example taking into consideration the possible inaccuracy of Google and the fact BMI has its own shortcomings, Google says she is 1.77 metres tall, seems a bit short that is 5 ft 8, I would have pegged her for 5 foot 9 at least and 55 kg. That is a BMI of 17.6 which is underweight for a teenage girl, ie runway model size, let alone a 41 year old woman, again by BMI standards. Add on 35 lbs or 16 kg that makes her BMI 22.7 which is well in the range of healthy and the camera does indeed add 10 pounds, the perception that is, which is why actresses and some actors obsess about this stuff.
She'd better be careful.
Shedding weight becomes increasingly difficult as you age, she's not 28 any more. Look at Rusty, he never did lose the weight he put on for Body of Lies. Christian Bale said he's not doing anymore weight modifications.
Rusty going to be forced to get slim and trim for his next film. A survivalist struggle in the Western Sahara called In Blood and Sand.
Most under-rated actor.

Good luck Rusty. Maybe he took the role to force himself to get into shape LOL.
The thing is these actors and actresses have the money to pay experts, the nutritionist, the doctors, the trainers to make sure they lose and gain the weight in as healthy way as possible, if they wish. Not sure if TH did that for some of his transformations and it sounds like he is already tired of it, anyway. Gary Oldman always seems able to make himself look thinner or heavier and not gaining or losing a pound. But then he never played a character like Tommy Conlon or Batman.
I don't see 35 pounds as a problem for Charlize to lose. It is her choice to do it. Like I said theoretically, if the Google stats are correct Charlize is normally underweight by BMI standards. And being underweight has its own health issues.
Now Bale has done it so many times too close together, and he really pushed it with The Mechanic. But no not surprised that Bale is finally fed up with it and it does get harder and harder no doubt and no fun. Well I think for a woman who has to be thin all the time it might actually be great at first like some women use the pregnancy excuse to eat for 2. But the coming off isn't going to be fun but again these people can afford the best help to do it the safest way if they are smart.
What is more problematic is I see some actors and actresses who get a role, go to the gym and get buff in time for filming, as soon as the role is over they let themselves go and then they get another role and oh no I gotta get in shape and I only have 6 weeks. I see this more often and that cannot be healthy and you wonder what short cuts they may be taking. That is different than the actors who consciously decide to make a huge change in their weight up or down for a specific role. Though those actors might take shortcuts too, who knows.
