WOW!! What's with all the hate???

I came to this board to see if anyone else thought she looked like a middle-aged housewife since her teens. It just distracts me and throws me off the story when I watch any film in which she appears. And I can see people think alot more and worse, to boot! But other than those who claim to have worked on set with her or witnessed her behavior in public, I'm baffled as to why so much hate regarding her appearance! What is it about her (besides her slouching, shoulder-hunching and floppy, sloppy, plodding gait) that garners so much vile hatred??? Notice I'm not defending her, just REALLY puzzled. Yes, her physicalities are annoying but what is with all the vicious cruelty? It just seems so personal.

It does, doesn't it?

I can't imagine why anyone would (1) get that worked up over somebody else's appearance or (2) be that hateful toward anybody, much less someone they don't know and who has never done anything nasty to them.

You expressed an opinion about her appearance that wasn't glowing but it had no animosity and was phrased in a respectful way. There was no assault on her character or taunting her for a perceived lack of good looks. Why is that so hard for other people to get?

I've also been glad to see that some people stick up for her and/or find her attractive, and that there are many people who do behave well. It's just a bit disappointing that so many people here can't express themselves in a more civil way.

For what it is worth I think she radiated enormous deep sexiness in the Secretary :-)

On a personal note I have also noticed that I perceive beauty much deeper and learn to appreciate diversity greater as I gain experience (read: getting older, and I am not that old). In my wee years Cinderella was the only one who could do it for me... now, it seems like almost any lady tickle something in me. And Maggie definitely has something, and that something she will never lose no matter how sloppy she may appear to the masses

What's confusing about the fact that she gets paid huge amounts of money to represent a fantasy when she's ugly, a terrible actress, and an unbelievable egomaniac? If you've never seen her in person you cannot imagine how grotesque she really is

I saw her in Secretary and am presently watching An Honorable Woman on TV. Her acting received rave reviews in both, so I can't understand how you can call her a terrible actress. Maybe to you she is ugly but that's just a personal opinion.

Her new short haircut is doing nothing for her appearance. I don't hate Maggie, but I find her to be genuinely hideous. And as said, it's a lot more than just her face. It's her whole body build and posture.

"I said no camels, that's five camels, can't you count?"
