Actually, the commercial was made as part of a collaboration between LG and his successful production company, HitRECord.

A list actors do commercials all the time... just usually not in America for some reason. I guess they think it'll hurt their credibility in Hollywood.

You should see the amount of commercial work Tommy Lee Jones has done in Japan. They are, quite frankly, amazing.
