A man far greater than Ronald Reagan died today.

Gorby was a great man and a great leader, a world leader, may he rest in peace.
It was he that led the way to peace, and Reagan that exploited it, and later US Presidents who let that peace decay to what we now have today.
Gorbachev could not have been happy about the way things unfolded after he left power.

reply

Reagan forced their hand by the arms race that sent them broke. Reagan is the genius. He let them paint themselves into a corner.

reply

You a gulping up BS propaganda.
Gorbachev drove this courageously.
Reagan was manipulated by the hawks in the military.

George H. W. Bush signed the peace treaty, and Russia agreed to the reunification of Germany, when the US promised that NATO would not expand one inch to the east. Who was the honest broker, and who kept their word?

reply

No promises are forever. Foolish to think so.

reply

Not when world peace and nuclear WWIII is on the table.
A typical right-wing BS non-response.

Couldn't agree more, Brux. We lived through it, after all.
