It is a weird name.
Its pronounced Ginnifer-gin (like the drink)
Her real name is Jennifer but she is from the south and their accents make it sound like Ginny not Jenny and when she moved to New York (?) and people called her Jennifer she didn't realise it was her they were talking to and she and her mum prefered the way they say it coz shes a southern lady, so she changed the spelling to the way they pronounce it.
