A quote from the interview with Matthew in Independent sums up pretty much the first thing I noticed about him.
This month saw the return to our screens of British television giant Stephen Poliakoff, with Dancing on the Edge, about a black jazz band making their way into upper-crust society during the 1930s. Poliakoff chose to lead his typically impressive cast for this five-part drama with one Matthew Goode. A long-limbed Englishman, he brings an easy jocularity to the role of the young, ambitious, music journalist, Stanley Mitchell, all twinkling eyes, hands-in-pockets insouciance, and an irresistible smile, turned up at the edges so it's almost, nearly, a smirk.

That, also him being brutally handsome and his first appearance in TGW as Finn where I didn't recognise him at first. The hospital scene in Last Call was brilliant.
Irresistible smile. I've tried resisting. Failed.

I love the description that you posted, Nicise. I think it's the facial expressions..the knowing looks..the devilish, cheeky humor..the empathy and his genuine reactions in the press - are almost like a movie in and of itself. Of course, the great smile and those eyes are amazing as well. I've always had a thing for tall, lanky men, too.
I hope we get to see something new from either the Oscars or the Pressure premiere press since TGW and DA has the information pipeline all locked down. It's a bummer that teaser after teaser in the media contains no mention at all and more curious, is how they refuse to address it even when readers and followers are asking for an update.
Perhaps early March will reveal all. I hate wishing time away but these weeks of confinement at home with the hubs is making me climb the walls. We had a rare snow and ice event and I went outside to shovel the driveway just to break the monotony. I've exhausted my MG collection, Colin, too..perhaps it's time for some Tom Hardy.
"Chasing Liberty"! LOL
I wished to be on the back of his motor bike chasing around Venice with this gorgeous smart guy.
Being this side of the pond, I've mostly watched all his Hollywood movies and over the years have filled up on his other stuff like "My Family and other Animals" which was fun.
Blimey - you're a long time fan then. I only caught up with Leap Year and then realised I'd seen and liked him in loads of stuff.
Leap Year got me hooked. Declan was my first love but when I found out what a charming, funny and adorable man Matthew was - well - I was lost!
'My family and other animals' is my absolute favourite - he is such a spoilt brat in that - hilarious. Plus not many clothes - always a bonus. 😉
