Based on Downton Abbey's final episode this season, it looked like Matthew Goode would be the new love interest for Michele Dockery. In his upcoming projects in development, Downton Abbey is not listed. Does anyone know?

I am getting so many messages about DA today - and I'm like WHAT! Don't you know that already. The news went mainstream today in the UK that the next season will be the last. I keep on saying why do you think Matthew finally said yes? We worked all that out last year on the DA board!
This is perfect for Matthew - no long term commitment, make a big splash as the dashing Henry Talbot - Mary's endgame (let's face it he made a hell of a start on that one - she is smitten already) and a nice little film deal at the end. I'm calling it now - the wedding will feature in the christmas special or the film. Matthew's role on DA will boost his profile in the UK again after being absent for a couple of years doing the Good Wife. Then when DA finishes he is free to do other stuff. Bloody brilliant for Matthew - sad for the DA fans though.

Henry Talbot certainly caught Mary’s attention in “Downton’s” final season five episode. They certainly make a striking pair and let’s face it, what red-blooded female could possible resist a tall, dark and handsome hunk like Henry? We’ve endured the ache of Matthew’s death long enough. Bring on a red, hot, Mary romance!

Someone leaked today on Twitter that there will be a twist and Goode's character is going to court Lady Edith. It's about time she gets someone Goode if it's true
