Matthew's cockney accent

I'm American so I'm wondering if Matthew's cockney accent in Dancing on the Edge is believable to you folks across the pond? It sounds great to me, kind of like Michael Cain, but I'm just an ignorant yank.

Yep - it's OK. He does different accents in every project he does - not like some other actors and usually nails it.

He's just finished filming The Hatton Garden Job about a group of East London jewel thieves - the cast includes some genuine cockney /East London actors so that will be interesting to see/hear!

I've only seen Matthew Goode in a few things, but I'm really impressed with his work. He seems to be very versatile - he's kind of a leading man type who can also do more charactery roles. He was terrific in Dancing On The Edge and Death Comes To Pemberley. A very talented actor - I'm not at all surprised that he's working so much.

I so agree with this dreamsville. Matthew seems to see himself as a character actor (he said he wants a long career as a character actor rather than a short one as a leading man) and so he takes on some interesting work. A lot of actors are just the same in everything they do but he uses different looks, facial hair, accents, tones of voice and even different walks in a lot of parts so people don't realise it's him. It's great seeing posts pop up saying 'can't believe that was the same guy in ....' - so he's obviously done a goode job! I think watching him on The Wine Show - where he is pretty much himself - you realise what a good actor he is to portray characters that are so different.
