He keeps such a low profile..almost like an anti-star. I can't wait to see how Henry Talbot comes across here..I think it's going to be a very good thing for him. He definitely leaves fans clamoring for more!

I think the US audience will love Henry - I don't think it is a spoiler to say that he is an all round goode guy in the finale.

Well I guess it had to happen - Matthew is starting to do films that his kids can watch! 'Four Children and It' starts filming in August. He is playing the father character.

The cast has been announced for a new heist thriller based on last year’s extraordinary robbery of £14m worth of jewels from London’s Hatton Garden Vault.

The Hatton Garden Job began filming in London this week and is the first movie to catalogue the remarkable burglary.

Downton Abbey star Matthew Goode and Nip Tuck star Joely Richardson will head up the cast.

The ringleaders of the robbery will be played by Larry Lamb (New Tricks) as Brian Reader, Stephen Moyer (True Blood), Phil Daniels (EastEnders), David Calder (Lady in the Van) and Clive Russell (Game of Thrones), with Sarah-Jane Crawford (The X-Factor) and Mark Harris (Abducted).

The movie will be directed by Ronnie Thompson (Tower Block), who also wrote the script.

The official synopsis reads: “…the film picks up with a mysterious thief, who is presented with an opportunity to take down the exclusive Hatton Garden Vault just days after leaving prison. It’s an old school job, requiring old school skills. With real life twists and turns as though written for a movie, The Hatton Garden Job follows our convict recruiting a team of veteran British criminals all eager for one final chance at glory. Together they must stay ahead of the law, dodge hired mercenaries and make deals with the head of the Hungarian mafia.”

Signature Entertainment owner and CEO, Marc Goldberg commented: “We are delighted to be distributing the first film of this extraordinary story that has continued to captivate the public at every turn. Audiences can look forward to watching the biggest burglary in English history play out on screens later this year.”

The Hatton Garden Job will be released in cinemas in late 2016.

The actor is coming off turns on 'Roots,' 'The Good Wife' and the final season of 'Downton Abbey.'
WGN America's sci-fi drama Roadside Picnic has found its star.

Matthew Goode is set to topline the pilot, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

Based on the 1972 novel of the same name by Arkady and Boris Strugatskys, Roadside Picnic explores a near-future world where aliens have come and gone, leaving humankind to explore the wondrous and dangerous mysteries left behind. The story also examines the social ramifications of their visit, as seen through the eyes of Red, a veteran “stalker” who has made it his mission to illegally venture into the once-inhabited "Zone" and scavenge the abandoned remains of the alien culture.

Goode will play Redrick "Red" Shuhart, an "enigmatic, blue-collar contradiction" who can be quietly intelligent one moment and utterly ruthless the next. Red has a loving relationship with his wife Guta and his daughter Marie — who is shunned because she is a child of the "Zone," the site of a long-ago extraterrestrial visitation. Red used to be a “Stalker," one of the brave souls willing to risk their lives by illegally entering the Zone to sell what they find on the black market. Recently out of prison, Red finds his troubles are just beginning.

Jack Paglen (Alien: Covenant) will pen the pilot, which will be directed by Alan Taylor (Game of Thrones). The two also will executive produce with Neal Moritz (Fast and the Furious) and Vivian Cannon (Preacher). Sony Pictures Television will produce.

In addition to his arc on the final season of Downton Abbey, Goode also appeared on the fifth and sixth seasons of The Good Wife and, most recently, Roots. His other credits include The Imitation Game, Watchmen and Match Point. Upcoming films include The Hatton Garden Job, Four Kids and It and Robert Zemeckis' Allied. Goode is repped by CAA, and Dalzell and Beresford.
