Using meteor scenes in his films

I haven't seen many of his films, only Birdman and The Revenant. But I noticed that he has a meteor scene in both of those films. Does he have it in his other movies too and why does he do it? Is it something personal for him, similar to a trademark? If you look at for example Alfred Hitchcock he has a cameo in all his films. Is the meteor like a trademark for Iñárritu?

Pretentious is his trademark. Although I digress, The Revenant wasn't as pretentious as Birdman. I give him kudos, as for the rest of The Revenant I wanted to do what Riggan did at the end of Birdman, kill myself.
