But he only convinced Rudin, that he's wrong.
Rudin tried to get Michael Haneke, I read, but Haneke declined.
I can think of no one better for this job than Inarritu.

That's so good to hear. I can't comprehend why Franco is buying movie adaptation rights left and right and then ruining the movies. If he truly loved those books, he'd step aside and let the adults do the talking.

shareCouldn't agree with you more. I made a post saying this on the Blood Meridian board. After seeing The Revenant I thought to myself he HAS to direct Blood Meridian. The whole style and atmosphere of The Revenant matches Blood Meridian perfectly.

shareI'd love to see him do it and team up with Robert Richardson or Roger Deakins because as much as I love Chivo's work, I feel like Richardson and Deakins have great objective styles that are necessary for adapting any McCarthy novel. Chivo is very subjective, on the other hand. Again, not saying it's bad at all, but I feel like an objective look for BM would be great.
