He needs to play...

I'd just like to nominate him to play Roland in the Dark Tower/Gunslinger. He'd be perfect. Gorgeous, complex, deep. That's all.

Holy crap yes! I've thought that they could never make the movie since no one could do the part the justice like young Clint Eastwood, but Iain Glen would actually be perfect.

I know right?

When I suggested this to my friends, they reacted the same way. My husband almost poo'd himself. It would be genius casting imo.

He's not really the image I had in my mind while reading the books, but I took some liberties and I'd never seen him as Jorah before, nor had I seen Iain anywhere before. He is exactly as described. He's already established himself in a similar role in a fantasy. And man, does he have some chops.

And I've always thought Eastwood would have been great too. I think SK actually eluded to that very thing at one point though, so that's probably where I got the idea. But either way, he's too old. Here's your Eastwood...you're welcome. There will never be a more fitting actor for this role. If he doesn't play him, imma cry.

And you know, coming from a superfan of the books, this is not praise to be taken lightly. His agent seriously needs to look into the possibility.

Chiming in that I would LOVE to see Iain Glen as Roland!!! It would be perfect.
