Hes killed the goldbergs.
They might as well pull the plug now
shareI never watched the Goldburgs. I like Curb Your Enthusiasm, though. I wonder if this might lead Larry David to end that show. Not that its impossible for it to go on without his character, but David is always on the fence it seems about doing another season. It might just be easier to end it then to deal with any controversy about Garlin or continue it without his character. His character might have been the second most important next to Larry. Leon is the only other one who compares.
edit: the article doesn't give any specifics about what he's accused of, other than that there were some jokes that some people felt demeaned them. Sometimes you'll see people in that industry lose a gig but it doesn't end in Gina Carano agent dropping them, complete cancellation from MAINSTREAM Hollywood (I know she is doing something with Ben Shapiro).
Being fired from a successful show in the middle of shooting the next season's episodes makes me think it was considered fairly serious, though.
I stopped watching the show around season 3. 4 tops. Not sure how you can blame the decline in that show on him and him alone.
shareI watched a few episodes of the Goldbergs and it just did not appeal to me - partially because I thought Garlin's character and the acting in general was so bad. Bad, but also different from Curb. He is so hilarious in Curb, I don't get why that didn't translate to the Goldbergs.
shareHow big is his role?
shareThe Goldbergs will use Jeff Garlin's body double and visual effects for his face following his exit over on-set misconduct allegations

"As of precursor of what was to come, I hear Garlin canceled his Covid test on Monday this week," reports Deadline's Nellie Andreeva of Garlin and Sony TV's decision to mutually part ways after the latest HR investigation into his alleged misconduct on set. "According to sources, the show used his double for what was supposed to be the actor’s last day, and his face will be superimposed using special effects in post-production. (That is practice used a number of times for Garlin in the past for various reasons, I hear.)" Andreeva also reports that executives delivered the news of the "elephant in the room" while celebrating the show's 200th anniversary. One person told Andreeva that "several people cheered" at the announcement. Andreeva also reports that ABC is expanding The Goldbergs' ninth season from 18 to 22 episodes.
