Brilliant in Hot Fuzz

I love Nick Frost in Spaced and Shaun of the Dead (thought hyperdrive was a bit weak but he was good in it) but I think he's especially good in Hoy Fuzz. Not because of his comedic talents but because of his actual performance. Danny Butterman for me is my favourite Frost character because he's different to his others and I just genuinely felt so much for the character. As weird as it sounds it's all about the bit in Hot Fuzz when they're in Somerfield and he's looking at DVDs. He's reading the taglines for supercop and whatnot and you can tell that being a good cop is all he's ever wanted and he's so naive and innocent. I can't really express what it is properly but the heart Frost manages to put into that character just really made me genuinely care about him. I'd love to see him do more (obviously with Pegg and Wright) but I really want to see him succesfully break out into other roles.

Totally agree, I preferred Frost to Pegg in Hot Fuzz although I did very much like Nicholas Angel. God I loved him so much thoughout the first half so when I thought he was in on it. I screamed out loud as I thought he was one of the good guys. One of my friends said "So he was a baddy all along" then we both sighed sighs of reliefs when we turned out he was a good guy. I thought he did the whole bad thing well in that couple of seconds he actually made me believe.

So far, I've seen Nick Frost in Spaced, Shaun Of The Dead, Hot Fuzz and some clips from Man Stroke Woman. And I think he's brilliant in all of those roles. But I would have to say my favourite role of his is in Hot Fuzz. Something about his performance in that just stands out. And to think that he wasn't an actor before Spaced just shows that he can only get better. But yeah, I'm looking forward to his future roles and more work with Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright.

I agree with you. Both the character and Nick Frost himself are so incredibly adorable and likable in that movie.

SPOILER ALERT!

I mean, the scene that I thought was the ending had him injured and nearly dead. I've seen the scene a couple times, and I almost cried once. He just hits it perfectly.

I'm simply curious...how many of you posting on this thread are British (sorry, but I really don't know the politically correct term)? I detect at least two, if I'm not mistaken.

I am a fan of British comedy; When I was a child, some of my favorites were Mr. Bean, Monty Python, and the like...it always has that dry sense of humor that I, for some reason, enjoy at least ten times as much as I do any slap-stick.

I can really see the whole Pegg, Frost, Wright combination going far into the future of comedy. Shaun and Fuzz are two of the funniest movies that I have seen in years, and I would love nothing more than to see many, many more entries into this specific catalog.
