Kind of an A-hole?
Does anybody else get that impression of him from the "Dinner for Five" series? I'd think he'd be on his best behavior on this show, but he comes off kinda crass and arrogant from the episodes I've seen. In particular I was recently watching an older one with the cast of "Elf" and found it kinda odd that he was slamming Will Ferrell's "Night at the Roxbury" movie in Will's face, saying he was being enticed to direct it by the producer but found that the script wasn't funny or handled the right way (a bit more of a slight as Will Ferrell also co-wrote the screenplay) and felt awkward having to meet the cast (Ferrell & Kattan) when he thought he was showing up to discuss a different movie.. all this while Will Ferrell is sitting directly across the table from him.
He also seems to throw around his past credentials a lot, in a name-dropping/puffing himself up kind of way.. it seems like he mentions the success of Swingers or works it into a story in nearly every episode I've seen.
