Hmm, interesting news. It's always difficult to predict how good an actor will be as director. Specially if it is his first directing job.

Critics are usually very hard with actors moving on to directing. On the other hand, they always attract more press than a normal director ;)

But as a fan of the book I have to say that I am really dissapointed. This is a project that needs a strong eye, not someone trying to prove himself as a director.

I think that this depends mainly on the quality. Some of them are just wannabe directors, while others are surprisingly talented. For example, I never expected Ben Affleck to be as good as he is.

I think the main advantage for actors who turn directors is that they are usually very good in getting good performances out of other actors. Because they know how it feels like to be in front of the screen.

Welp. This movie just became Dakota's best chance at becoming A list again.

Yeah, I am still skeptical if Ewan McGregor has enough directing chops. But this will at least get the movie more attention.

The expression A-Lister is only really for the biggest movie stars and the most bankable actors. You know, the ones who star in big blockbusters or who have a lot of awards.

Dakota isn't quiet there yet. So the most appopriate expression for her is B-Lister.
