What a tool

This dude is laughable in how cool he thinks he is. Plays the same character in every role, which is pretty much always an asshole, and now he thinks he's a singer. His music video is hysterically bad, and he can't actually sing, so he just talk sings.

He's still cooler than you could ever hope to be, you jealous bitch!

Idris?

lol

"Plays the same character in every role"

yes.

he remind me of samual l jackson, who is not famous for playing character, he famous for being samual l jackson, and he seem to act in every other film i see, playing samual l jackson, not character.

You aren't wrong, but I think SLJ at least brings a sort of gravitas to his persona that makes him a little more palatable. I'll give it to him for really going a different way in The Kingsman, but that's about it.

reply

yes i agree about gravitas.

SLJ is al pacino compare to idris elba!

Why does he have to be a tool? Can't he just be bad at his job? That isn't a crime.

Also his portrayal of an American drug dealer in The Wire was so good, many people had no idea he was British. I'd say that is decent acting.

I tend to think that while your complaint is valid, this is not a reflection of the actor's ability. Moviegoers want and pay for, familiarity. Actors today are not rewarded to be versatile. If the Rock did a drama as a middle aged man, it would bomb.

reply

I never said he was a bad actor, but he's extremely 1 note. Just like the rock, not getting those roles is a commentary on their range more than anything. Also, Idris isn't a good guy. He's got multiple illegitimate children, and has said some ridiculous shit trying to come across as progressive.
