EGOT

Now that she's won the Golden Globe, and I do believe she'll win this year's Oscar for Supporting Actress, she's got to do something (a la Tracy Jordan on 30 Rock) to get a Grammy and be an EGOT winner.

Can she sing?

She'll have the Triple Crown of Acting, to be sure.

If she doesn't win the Oscar this year, I'll be in shock.
I'll cry like she does in her roles, with snot and spit rolling everywhere down my face.

Well, I don't wanna count my chickens, but I also think she'll win the Oscar. And like you, I'd kinda be shocked if she doesn't. So assuming she does win the Oscar like pretty much everyone has their money on, it's really cool she'll have the triple crown of acting. But in order to get that EGOT, she luckily doesn't have to sing, which is good because she doesn't. (I saw an interview with her where she said she doesn't sing, even in the shower. Except now that she's adopted a daughter, she sings a little ditty to/with her daughter, but that's about it.) But she could get the Grammy the way other actors get a Grammy, and that's by winning the Best Spoken Word Album Grammy. That's how Betty White won a Grammy. That's how Kate Winslet won a Grammy (before she actually won the Emmy and Oscar). Along with countless other actors. Given that she really stars in plays on Broadway rather than musicals, she isnt likely to win the Grammy for Best Musical Theatre Album.

I didn't know Kate Winslet and Betty White have Grammys! Thanks for that info!

I was joking about the singing. I know that Whoopi earned her EGOT from a comedy album (though her Emmy was a daytime Emmy, which doesn't feel as prestigious as the Primetime one that Viola Davis won).
