Choice of roles?
I think he has made some bad choices about his parts such as not returning to rescue me or 24. 2 of the best shows on tv but he chose not return to either which could have given more screen time and made him famous.

sharePerhaps Badge doesn't want to be famous?
I would say his role in Rescue Me was so small the exposure was minimal. And he has stated more than once that while he would have liked to have returned to 24, there was a scheduling conflict.
Personally I think his choice to appear in The Departed, not only a Scorsese movie but an Oscar winner, and his starring role in the upcoming The Pacific, the most expensive mini-series ever filmed, will garner him more kudos than a small role in a TV series.
I didnt know about the scheduling conflict I thought he was asked to return and turned it down. I would definately agree with being in The Departed one of my favourite films and im sure The Pacific will be an amazing series but still would like to see him return to either show in the future.
shareI'm stunned at how well he portrays PFC Robert Leckie. He plays his just like a battle weary, world wise combat Marine. Simply awesome. He's got Leckie down to a T. I'm good friends with Robert Leckie's nephew, also named Robert Leckie, and the family if very proud and impressed with this portrayal. Well done.

That's what I thought about 24, i.e. that he'd turned down the role. Chase Edmunds was the best CTU agent in the whole 8 seasons of 24 (with the exception of the big names - Jack Bauer, Tony Almeida etc.) and that is largely down to James Badge Dale's portrayal of the character.
I hope they bring him back for the 24 movie.
