I'm just curious, because I've noticed that in a few of the shows he's been on (The Black Donnellys and The Rubicon, which has him referencing that he can speak some Gaelic) and in The Departed he's played Irish characters. Dale also seems, to me at least, to be an Irish - sounding last name. So...does anybody know?

I have no idea where/when/why the surname Dale began.
Oh, I knew he was an American, I was just wondering if anyone knew if he was of partial Irish descent. Though his grandparents have some very intresting last names - can't say they seem familiar in any sort of ethnic heritage (and I just studied ethnicities in PA so I should know!)
