shareThis show is great and perfectly cast.
shareYou're insane. They did a great job of casting. These two guys, reprising iconic roles from a beloved movie franchise, have been EXCELLENT. They're doing a great job of staying true enough to the original characters to actually make it a "Lethal Weapon" show-- but they're not going over-the-top, trying to imitate the originals exactly. That's precisely what they had to do. A lot of people were already whining, as soon as this series was announced, about remaking Lethal Weapon, because they were saying there would be no way anyone could live up to the original performances-- which is why Crawford and Wayans' portrayals have been perfect-- because they're not carbon-copying Gibson and Glover's characters. They've made these characters their own versions, and that's a brilliant move for this series (and the only way it could possibly satisfy a lot of people who were fans of the movies).
And Crawford is a fantastic actor. He's nailed this character-- making him funny and an adrenaline-junky with a death-wish, yet also making him human, and a really good dude, who's going through the worst possible family scenario, and showing that he is a very caring and loyal person... To pull off a character that displays ALL of those traits (and then some) on a consistent basis, and make it believable and not seem forced at all, is impressive. Dude has skills. Dont be a hater for some stupid, illegitimate reason, when it's clearly not warranted.
I agree with you. I think they both do a great job with being the characters but making them their own. I think they have such great chemistry as Riggs and Murtaugh. I was leary at first but I gave watching the show a shot and I love it. I hope the show lasts a long time. It's great to see Damon Waynes on tv again. Most of the time I see his son. So glad he was cast in the show.
shareActually, the show is well cast, well written, and well made.
