I saw an article about this in today's paper and felt all smug that I know who he is. I hope the writing is good.

I saw a trailer of about two and a half minute's length for this upcoming series on YouTube last night, and it looked okay. At first, I thought it was a theatrical reboot of the original film (everything seems to be a reboot these days), but I caught on as the clip progressed. I'll give it a look. Marlon Wayans (or one of the Wayans guys) is taking over the Danny Glover role. Steve V.

Especially considering the pre-airing hate he was getting, and the fact that he was stepping into an iconic, beloved role-- he DOMINATED, imo, haha. For real, I think he was excellent, both in the more dramatic scenes, and the funny ones-- which he was particularly good in. The entire pilot was pretty impressive, as they didn't go overboard trying to duplicate the original characters exactly, and that resulted in both leading guys coming off as likeable characters, which were both well-acted, and both felt "familiar' to the previous versions-- yet were not carbon-copy attempts to re-do those originals exactly as they were in the movies. This pilot was a solid start, and I'll go ahead and say that this show will be the pleasant "surprise" for this year.

Heck,yeah---hes been killing it as Riggs in this new show, which is one of my favorite new shows for this fall season--been watching it every week, just about.

I like him as Riggs more than Mel!

I have seen every episode. He is fantastic as Riggs. Hope this show stays around for a very long time.

Same here. Mel has done some good stuff but Crawford has really impressed me with his good range going from Rectify to LW.
