Getting Snubbed at the Oscars.. Still a 'Bright Star' to Be

Yeah, everyone associated with this film was snubbed and unfairly as it was really a critic's darling. A huge huge amount of critics loved this film. I cannot figure out what happened. Nevertheless, no one associated with the film has anything to be ashamed of by any means! I think eventually Cornish will be recognized. I'm just sorry it wasn't with Bright Star!

Well, you can be sure Reese Witherspoon didn't vote for her.

Best performance of 2009 for me i wasn't really suprised that she didn't at least get a GG nomination.

^^^ I agree. This movie really did get snubbed. Best Actress, cinematography and even best picture are the categories the film should have been nominated for. Abbie and the cinematographer should have won. I am disappointed that this film got no attention awards-wise.

Abbie's still very young and she caught the attention of some of the most laudable critics. There's no doubt that her star will continue to rise. There's an uncommon elegance and a warmth to her performances that draws people in. I thought "Bright Star" was wonderful and I thought she was one of the main reasons why. I'm glad to see that I'm not alone in thinking this.

She deserved an Oscar for her performance in Candy.

She was nominated for Bright Star at last years AFI Awards, but didn't win. Jacki Weaver did for Animal Kingdom.
