Not hot?

Ok well I've seen a lot of people praising her on her beauty on this board but I don't get it at all. She doesn't look that great. I've looked her countless times and can never find a photo of her where she looks striking. I'm not saying she's ugly, just plain; ordinary. She wouldn't catch my eye in a crowd.

I am a girl, but don't get me wrong. I do recognize the beauty in women. Here are examples of what I perceive as beauty : Scarlett Johanson, Kate Winslet, Dita Von Teese, Aishwarya Rai, Kristen Kreuk, Catherine Zeta Jones, Elisha Cuthburt, Chloe Sevigny. I admire girls who stand out, and this girl doesn't stand out to be percieved as beautiful. Like I said, couldn't pick her out of a crowd.

I agree with you, I don't think she is Hot or Amazing looking just pretty much average. She wasn't that attractive in Stop Loss either. Just a big Meh, I would Take Reese over her any day.

Abbie has that illusive quality, a sensuality that seems to be a part of her, in the way she moves and speaks. In addition, she also has an unusual beauty. It's not the cookie cutter looks of much of the pseudo celeb's: she's neither reed thin nor has a surgically exaggerated bosom and/or rear end. She also has a little tilt to her nose. But IMO it goes perfectly with her personality. It's often the women who are unusual whose looks are the most famous. Not that I'm saying that will happen to Abbie. But she is unique, both in her looks and in her attitude about them.

I find some of the women you list above unattractive, or borderline plain. That's because of different tastes.

Let's concede that you don't find Abbie beautiful. Many do.

I think it is that guys see her and believe that she is a girl they would have a shot at. Above average looks can be raised to "hot" by perceiving better odds than actually exist.

I see it all the time with my friends. Someone will say something like "she's okay, I guess" when seeing a girl for the first time. After they feel like sex could be an option with the chick, all of a sudden it's "man, she is so hot, I wanna #@&* her in every possible way." And most of the time, they aren't even drinking.

Then, some guys probably think she is hot because they think every girl is hot and would knock the dust off of anyone that moved. And sometimes, they don't even have to be moving.
