98? They Say That 'Only the Good Die Young'

Well, that's clearly *bullshit* (many shitty people die young, and many great people live to a grand old age, like Carter), although it's a shame that Carter's current health is so poor, and that he's thus unlikely to get to 100. Still, even if he sadly dies this year, he's had a great innings.

Carter wasn't the best president but he is an outstanding humanitarian. He built homes for the homeless with his bare hands for about forty years. Amazing!

His administration was admittedly patchy (although by no means the most toxic, particularly in terms of legacy), but of all the Presidents of the last 50 years, I think it would be very fair to say that he is the most admirable, on a human level.

I definitely *like* the guy. He seems like a real stand-up fellow.

How come? Dick Van Dyke is a COMPLETE ASSHOLE and he's still alive!

reply

If that's irony, then it's funny (although I will say this against him, I'm not sure he should be driving anymore).

reply

???? Nobody has ever said anything but nice things about him.

reply

Didn't George Floyd die at 40 or something?

reply

46, but that is a ripe old age for a black man.

reply

Due to the lifestyle that many blacks choose for themselves, of course.
