He had mucho motive to kill her. But he didn't have time. He brought his personal gun into the restaurant (he had a carry permit) and left it there. He came back in to get it when she was shot. His gun wasn't the murder weapon and he was still on the scene with the police when they recovered the actual murder weapon blocks away from the scene.
Not saying he couldn't have had someone do it but he himself most likely couldn't have.
it was very bad timing then.
