That movie was The Jackal and that was only because it was a tiny part and he was killed off. In real life, he's an fat, idiot jackass, and on screen he's a talentless slob. Anybody that thinks he's a good actor has never watched movies that he wasn't in.

Please don't discredit every movie an actor's been in if you happen to not like their work. I think you misunderstood the OPs post. They were not saying that every movie that Jack has been in has been bad, but rather that Jack is not a good actor/talented/entertaining/etc. and so nothing that he has done has been any good or worthwhile. You listed several movies that he has been in, but he had a small part in those; it would be be better if you can give examples of good movies in which he played a starring role.
I had not even heard of him until several years ago and so am surprised by his filmography and some of the movies he was in. Also, while I too dislike him in general, he has not been complete rubbish in everything. In fact, I intend to watch Gullivers Travels soon and expect that will be his least annoying and inane role.

I disagree with the OP completely. Jack Black is a fantastic entertainer. His comedy is gold and he sings like a angel. Sure he has done movies that aren't as successful as others in many levels, but given the right project he is capable of great performances.
I saw Nacho Libre the other day and thought he nailed the part and the movie was awesome too. Really anticipating Frank or Francis. Hopefully Charlie Kaufman brings his A-material to the table.

I have to admit, when I think of great actors, I don't think of Jack Black. But I just watched Shallow Hal and he got me.

shareI agree kmartin173 that "gold" comment is a slap in the face to true comedic actors like Jim Carey and Ben Stiller. Jack relies more on his looks and that annoying singing for his comedy. That's why most of his characters are all goofy, he could have never played a more serious comedic role like "Meet The Parents" "Guess Who" or "Bruce Almighty".
