Characters of Berlin Station

Here is one person's opinion...

Daniel Miller: Rich is doing great! I love looking at him, and he's adding details that we wouldn't get from other actors.

(Why was he using his left hand to eat the ice cream? At first I thought the directors wanted to frame the look of the scene nicely, but perhaps Daniel needed to keep working on his phone?)

(Delightful to see Rich's Guy of Gisborne smirk. Maybe Daniel had suddenly leapt out to draw suspicion in order to get players to expose themselves?)

Hector DeJean: Rhys Ifans is a brilliant choice for this role. Never expected to admire him or his work so much.

Robert Kirsch: Kill this character or send him home ASAP. I guess we're not supposed to like this whiny, profane puke, but there's only so much the viewers should be expected to tolerate. (After Episode 5 - I actually love this character now. Who'd have thought?)

Valerie Edwards: Michelle Forbes is a great choice for this rebellious, sanctimonious character. She could also pull off being a hero.

Steven Frost: Richard Jenkins is too ugly for this role. Doesn't seem to be much of an actor, either.

Sandra Abe: Tamlyn Tomita seems like a pretty good actress. Hopefully her character is much more complicated than what we have seen so far.

Esther Krug: I don't think this character has been written well. Mina Tander seems like a poor actress, anyway.

So, is this your opinion, GTA? I'll add a bit to it.

They've put up a Daniel Miller profile:

Has he got an ulterior purpose for being in Berlin? Is it to do with his mother's death? What's between him and Hector? I sense some tension there.

Others have noticed his acting, like that moment in the bar:

Am loving Rhys Ifans and see him as RA's co-star. The only other thing I remember him in is Notting Hill when I found him a very irritating character. It's much more fun playing someone apparently with a sordid dark side and I bet he gets a lot of notice in this series. Hector's profile:

Valerie seems too good and noble. Is she the mole?

Richard Jenkins as Frost is, according to one article, the main reason why we should be watching this - because he's such a good actor, LOL!

As an ensemble, I think we have an excellent group here.

Of course, jaydall, Valerie could be one of the really bad people. In the early clips we got, I thought the authoritative female voice (i.e. "No one can know why you're there...") was hers. Mostly likely we were hearing the voice of that other lady, though (the one who seems to be much higher up in the ranks).

When Berlin Station was first announced the second thing that got me excited was learning that Richard Jenkins is going to be in it. He's generally considered as an excellent actor, GTA, don't dismiss him just yet. 😉

That is so funny that you don't like Robert Kirsch. I really like his character. Not because he's admirable in any demonstrated way, but I think his character is written very realistically. There probably is someone like him in every male-dominated office. I also really like Leland Orser. The flow of f-bombs don't bother me at all. It would probably surprise you, but I have a filthy mouth. I blame cable TV and working in offices where that is the norm.
I guess I like his adversarial interactions with others in the office. It seems real.

Yeah, funny is one word for it, hounds-3. Effing hilarious is more like it.

I do use the F word, especially when I'm driving. (Though milder in manners than the "back row" dudes in my BASc class at U of T, I did sit among them, so that should give you some further context...) My husband and I need to curb our behaviour, though, because our kid needs better examples to follow.

Yes, Richard Jenkins is a well respected actor, and I am happy that BS has him.

This lil' pair of Daniel Miller poses...

is almost better than a GIF - no blurring! (If your view of the tweet gives you both photos at once, click on one pic so that you can manually switch back and forth between them.) 
