Urban screening in Somerset
This sounds like a lovely small audience screening and event. Anyone near Somerset?

I used to live near there a long time ago. It's close to the mystic place of Glastonbury, associated with King Arthur, and now site of the massive Glastonbury Festival.
What I want to know is: how on earth did they get their hands on this? And does that mean that the rest of us have a chance of seeing it?
Anyone likely to go? You even get served with a cocktail, LOL!
And just to add a bit more: apparently, the village of Bruton has attracted a load of celebrities who have bought homes there, like Stella McCartney and Nicholas Cage. A big art gallery has also set itself up there, so now it has galleries in London, LA, NYC, Zurich....and Bruton, LOL! I don't see the attraction. When I lived in Somerset, I drove through Bruton a couple of times and, although the High Street, like most villages in the area, has many ancient houses, the overall feeling I got was that it was a bit tatty and nothing special. And yet, Robert Bolt, the famous screenwriter, (Doctor Zhivago, Lawrence of Arabia) lived nearby and.....wait for it....John Steinbeck. On his deathbed, he claimed that his 6 months there were the happiest time of his life. This was confirmed by his wife who, after his death, never went back so as not to disturb the idyllic memories. He was there researching material for a King Arthur story and he could see the iconic Glastonbury Tor from his cottage window. This is just outside Glastonbury where Arthur's grave was supposedly found in the Abbey grounds. Steinbeck called Bruton his 'Avalon'.
And how's this for 'incestuous' relationships in the acting profession? Steinbeck worked closely with Elia Kazan, Zoe Kazan's (Love, Love, Love) grandfather. And one of the celebrities to own a house in Bruton is Rhys Ifans (BS).

Thanks for the info. Are you familiar with the venue? Candida Brady will be there to answer questions. I hope she gives an update on distribution.
shareIt's in a beautifully renovated and rather posh place called At the Chapel which is part elegant restaurant, part upmarket b&b and part clubhouse. It would seem that the film will be shown in the clubhouse. Here's the web site:

If you wanted to go and see the film and fancied staying here, it is quite expensive. The rooms are lovely but all you get is a croissant for breakfast (from their own bakery) and not a full English breakfast. And they will charge you £150 per night. Click on the list of bedrooms below:
http://www.atthechapel.co.uk/bedrooms/
You might be better off staying at one of the gastropubs in the village like The Old Red Lion (£70 for a single - click on 'Stay with Us') where you get a full breakfast thrown in. But it's slightly outside the village:

Or, the similarly priced Three Horseshoes, also with breakfast (click on 'Sleep'). But this is also outside the village in Batcombe:

It's a lovely area with plenty of places to visit like quaint Glastonbury and gorgeous Wells with its stunning cathedral and Bishop's Palace if you wanted to make a short holiday of it.
It sounds like a very small venue and it seems like it's a screening for Critics Assoc. This also looks like a poster or the film. Hm...Think this is progress here.
shareThanks for digging up all this encouraging information, hounds. Where did you find out it was a Critics Association thing?
Did you mean to put up this poster? I wondered if it was a fan thing at first but it seems quite professionally done:

The poster has been around since last year, I think. It is on Blenheim's site. The event page gives the price for Critics Associated tickets but no other ticket prices. So I assume the target audience is critics but maybe not exclusively critics.
Sounds like a lovely event.

Thanks, hounds. I wouldn't think there were enough critics in the area to pinpoint just them, LOL! I can imagine that at least one fan will try to get there so perhaps we'll hear back about the availability of tickets. And I hope that, during the Q&A, someone asks Brady about the future of the film.
