Hmm, Yael Farber's Oedipus in the West End


A couple of years ago, Baz Bamigboye broke the news that RA would be appearing in The Crucible. Now he has just announced that Yael Farber will be doing Oedipus in London in 2017 (Autumn?) No casting yet. Let's hope it's Richard.

It will be the second show so maybe early winter? This seems like it would be a no brainer, but of course we have no idea what conflicts there might be around that time. Let's hope.

I misunderstood the tweet. Apparently, it's not the original Oedipus but an interpretation of what seems like the original trilogy - the Theban plays - called Oedipus to Antigone. It will focus on Antigone, Oedipus' daughter.

I feel a bit disappointed since I would have liked him to do the original classical play and, if the story circles around Antigone, is the role of her father a much smaller part?
