New follows - Stephen Mangan and Sue Perkins

I wonder if these new twitter follows are related and a hint to his next project? Is anyone familiar with either or both? Looks like Stephen Mangan is an actor and Sue Perkins is a writer, but I can only find an old show they were both on and nothing currently in production.

Sue is mostly known as a presenter ... Great British Baking Show (wasn't she in a comedy act w/ co-host Mel?) and quiz shows. (See Self on her imdb page.)

They're both in that whole Dawn French / Jennifer Saunders circle of funny people.

I loved Stephen Mangan as the 'original' Dirk Gently ... he's been in Episodes for a while. I'd love to see RA in that! He's filming a new comedy w/ (the American) Heather Graham, Bliss.

Maybe he's just following him for his political tweets. He's pretty consistent.
Hmm. I still hold out hope for Mid Life Crisis! Maybe they're all in it. :)

Stephen Mangan is a British actor and comic. He had a successful series in the UK (with Matt LeBlanc) called Episodes which is about a scriptwriter and his wife who think they have hit it big in Hollywood - and then find out how cruel that world can be. I found it entertaining and funny.

His new series, Bliss, is in pre-production. No reference to RA.

Sue Perkins is also an actor and a comic and a comedy writer whom I like a lot. Her latest mention on IMDb is to something for Children in Need associated with Fantastic Beasts.

No obvious connection is jumping up and biting me on my nose.

Edit: you've beaten me to it, chrissy. I wondered about the political comments too. I also thought it would be nice if these guys were in Mid Life Crisis.

Here's the Fantastic Beasts sketch for Children in Need ... always funny how many people they can squeeze into one of those. Mel and Sue are the telephone operators:

Not to change the subject, but did you see the Luther sketch for Comic Relief? That was hilarious! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-CVrUFSFHag

reply

Thanks, I hadn't seen those, chrissy. I enjoyed the first but not the second - possibly because I'm not a follower of Luther.

Thanks. I loved Luther and love Idris Elba. I even entered the Omaze contest to be Idris' Valentine for charity. Keeping my fingers crossed!

You know, someone on Twitter suggested the follows might be related to the upcoming Comic Relief in March, but I don't see it.

Someone else suggested it was related to Mid-Life Crisis because the producer is following them both.

I did find that there is an upcoming ep of "Insert Name Here" with them both:

EDIT: The producer of Mid-Life Crisis is following both (Valentina's sleuthing), so maybe it is MLC related. Whoop whoop

Other than seeing Sue on QI, the only other thing I've seen her in is Giles and Sue Live the The Good Life. Seeing if people really could live like the old The Good Life/Good Neighbors show.

I loved seeing Sue in supersizers go
