A Surprise for Valentine's Day?

David Hewson is indicating that we will get an 'extra' from RA for Valentine's Day. Last year it was all those Love Poems.....

Classic Love Poems was released on February 9th 2015, not 2016.
No "surprise" last year, not even a tweet.

Now, don't be defeatist, Piripilla: he might have meant more than that. In the meantime, here are a couple of things to be getting on with. A nice little thought for the day:

And one of my favourite romantic readings:

And it's another interview..... I would have been very disappointed if it had only been that photo of Verona.

It's lovely, as usual, to listen to his beautiful, articulate voice. His discussion is better than the audiobook, I'm afraid, although it does have its moments and I think it contains some good ideas like making the families two rival vintners.

I think that one of my problems is that I know the story too well and now I find it boring, however you come at it. I even saw the Prokofiev ballet that RA mentions at last six times in the three years that I lived in Moscow - fantastic piece. But, other people don't seem to be excited by it either and it hasn't had the same interested response on Audible as the Hamlet novel. This is a good idea of Hewson's, to hold back this interview and now use it to push the sale of his book.

It was nice that a couple of sites picked up Richard as their Valentine yesterday, like Epix and The One Ring:

Tacky .... sorry., but they are. I can't believe TORn would do something like that. Thorin was supposed to be RA's move away from the "tottie" image, and there was so much angst about his casting in the first place given that fear the film makers wanted "hot dwarves". A load of that angst came from TORn, I might add. (Off to mutter to myself in the naysayer corner).

Yes, I still remember all the angst and the anger and the arguments quite clearly, MHJ. I agree that most Valentine things like this are tacky but it also made me smile because, at last, TORn can accept that you can be a hot dwarf but still a wonderful actor who has given an iconic performance as Thorin. They've got over themselves and I think that RA might be pleased by what this 'tribute' indicates - ie that everyone (near enough) loves and appreciates him in this role.
