There was a death metal band from, I think, Sweden. They were legit Neo-nazis and one of the guys killed the other. There was also a country singer that sang racist songs that are popular with the KKK. That said, GG Allin was pretty terrible.

I think you're thinking of Varg Vikernes from Norway. He did claim self-defence though.
