What's up with J.J. Abrams and lens flares?

Is it just me or does he go over the top with his lens flares?

Don't get me wrong, some of the space scenes in ST and SW look really good, but i think he's overdoing it as he have them in almost every scene. Growing up with the originals where proper lightning and surface materials on the models played a more important role in giving it a natural look. It's a little to much CGI for my taste. Couldn't they find something in between?

Am i wrong?

Soon everyone will realize he is a one trick pony. He relies too heavily on special effects, bright colors, and short quick scenes to keep the attention of mindless millenials. Not all millenials are mindless, just the ones who think Abrams movies are good, and it seems to mainly millenials who think that.

Abrams is the 21st century version post sellout Lucas but without anything to be proud of.

I'm glad i'm not the only one.

There are similarities with JJ and Michael Bay. He also over use the same camera shots and lightning in Transformers, flares all over the place.
