"Regarding Henry" and "Forever Young"

What happened to J.J. Abrams? He was once great, but at some point he turned to the dark side. No offense. I guess, perhaps he wanted to appeal to the tastes of much broader audiences. He is set for life now. Maybe Jeffery Abrams will come back.

He gets away with stupid people watching movies these days. He found out he doesn't have to try anymore. Those were two great films, too bad he hasn't done anything good after those.

You thought Regarding Henry and Forever Young were great? Why?

One was a shallow drama about a man who lost his memory, terribly cast with Harrison Ford in an entirely inappropriate role. The other was a formulaic adventure story in which little actually happens. Neither was particularly groundbreaking and both scripts were populated by cardboard cutouts.

He was just getting his feet wet in the industry at that time. Is this your sophisticated way of insulting the guy or something? Tell him his worst work was his best?

Seriously, if you think those were the best things he has written, I feel sorry for you.

For what it's worth, Mission: Impossible III was also decent. Armageddon was okay. The rest of his work leaves much to be desired.
