Amanda has declared herself bankrupt with debts of £120,000 owed to the taxman, whilst continuing to live with her partner of 11 years (and the father of her two children) actor, Martin Freeman. According to The Sun newspaper (link below), he is estimated to be worth £10 million. Legally, HMRC cannot require him to pay any of her debts:

I am a friend of Amanda's and I can tell you for a fact that Martin is not worth £10 million, Amanda does not owe that much tax and she is actively paying it back to the Inland Revenue. But well done for believing everything you read in tabloid newspapers.

On reflection, I have decided to amend my previous message on this thread in order to remove some of my personal comments which might have caused offence. The message now just states the bare facts (although possibly disputed facts in terms of Martin's wealth) as reported by The Sun.
