Missing the point about who Wilmer Valderrama chooses to date

In reading this message board, it seems that there a few central points about Wilmer's highly questionable choice in dating partners that get glossed over when other arguments begin.

For starters:

-.) Age of consent laws: Contrary to what most think, the age of consent is not 18 years old nationwide. It varies greatly from state to state and, in all likelihood, Wilmer has never broken any of those laws. So, the discussion is getting sidetracked with that


More significantly:

-.) The overall age difference: There have been many people on these message boards who have defended the age difference between the much older Wilmer and the young women he dates. They defend it by citing their own examples of healthy, successful large age-difference relationships in their own experience, or with their parents. It's quite true that those relationships have worked out, but it is not healthy successful relationships that Wilmer is engaging in.

The woman Wilmer has dated have either been young and impressionable, like Mandy Moore.... or they have been in fragile, vulnerable states, such as Lindsay Lohan and Demi Lovato. He seeks out women who are easier to influence. When they become more confident and sure of themselves, they want nothing to do with him (i.e. Mandy Moore)... It's why you have never seen Wilmer in a relationship with anyone near his age or with a strong foundation
