'Moment By Moment'

Yet another question from the ignorant new fangirl, hehe...

Was curious if anyone knows whether or not it's possible to locate an unedited version of Lily's film Moment By Moment...? I bought a copy from someone online recently, knowing it had been a VHS-to-DVD transfer. In fact, the picture quality was surprisingly fine, but unfortunately it wasn't until about halfway through viewing that I realized it was not only transferred from VHS - it seemed to be a VHS copy of what must have been a recorded airing of the film, because it had the "AMC" network logo in the corner, and there were so many awkwardly-placed scene changes at the most potentially intimate moments. Very irritating. Was this film never released AT ALL after theatrical run? I am absolutely dying to see why it was rated R, if ya know what I mean...

Just to clarify, I think Tomlin has got to be the most versatile (multi-)talent America has to be proud of -- perhaps EVER, in the history of all performance art. She also just happens to be quite stunning to look at. Just an added bonus for me, personally.

I like you Kyssi, you and I agree %100 about Lily being the best American talent EVER. : )

MBM was never released commercially on VHS or DVD. It has only turned up occasionally on the late late show movie reruns ( and AMC ). I would suggest ebay (again) and try looking on ioffer.com. That site seems to have lots of sellers selling bootlegs of MBM but one of them may have the complete unedited version. BE SURE TO ASK before you buy. But I'm glad you got to see the movie tho. There is nothing too racey or steamy. It's actually pretty tame compared to today's flicks. The only thing is the kissing/bed scenes but they're both clothed in robes during those scenes. And John Travolta says *beep* once. That's about it.

Yes, I do have an uneditied version on VHS and again, once I have the resources again, I'd be happy to get you a copy : )

Thanks so much again for your helpful responses!

What's REALLY irking me lately is not that MBM was never released to video, it's that The Incredible Shrinking Women has yet to be released onto DVD!

That's one of her most well-known and beloved roles - DUB'YA. TEE. EFF.!

If it's any consulation Kryssi, you're not the only one who's irked by ISW. SO MANY people want to see that movie on dvd. I don't know if it ever will be. I think it has to do with a rights issue. On one of the other threads someone said they met Lily and asked her about ISW and she said the director or someone had died and wasn't sure about it getting on dvd. So sad. It's such a loss that some of Lily's best work is so rare and hard to find on VHS or DVD. When you look at all the crap out there today and this mega talented woman's best work is sooo hard to find.

On the bright side, ISW is on VHS and can be found on ebay and ioffer.com.
